〜後に
Formation
Meaning
Indicates that action B occurs after action A is completed, or that a state resulting from A remains.
Note
While 'ato-ni' (後に) often emphasizes a remaining state or the time sequence, 'ato-de' (後で) specifically emphasizes performing the next action. When following time-related nouns or Sino-Japanese nouns, it is typically read as 'go' (e.g., 三日後 - mikka-go). In other contexts, it is read as 'ato' or 'nochi'.
