Used to seek confirmation or agreement from the listener.
Note
A polite way of seeking agreement. In speech, it is used with a rising intonation. Its colloquial counterpart is '〜だろう?' (common in masculine speech) or simply '〜ね'. It sounds softer and more considerate than a direct question.
