Meaning

Indicates that there is a possibility. Expresses an uncertain guess with less certainty than 'deshou'.

Note

Expresses an uncertain guess or possibility (around 50% or less). It is less certain than '〜でしょう' or '〜に違いない'. In casual conversation, it is frequently shortened to just '〜かも'. Unlike '〜でしょう', it can also be used to express an objective possibility without strong conviction.

明日は雨が降るかもしれない。
