Meaning

Expresses strong dissatisfaction or criticism towards someone for not doing something at all, or failing to perform even a basic action.

Note

A strong negative emphasis used when an expected or obvious action is not carried out. It often conveys the speaker's frustration, annoyance, or criticism (e.g., 'not even saying thank you'). It connects to the masu-stem (without 'masu') of verbs. For Group 3 verbs like 'する', it usually becomes 'しもしない'.

彼は私の話を聞きもしないで、自分の意見ばかり言っている。

He doesn't even listen to what I'm saying and just keeps stating his own opinion.

準備を始めもしないで、もうすぐ出発だなんて信じられない。
