Used when giving a reason or an excuse, especially when implying 'I didn't really want to do it, but because...', often carrying a nuance of apology or explanation.

Indicates a reason or an excuse, often for an undesirable situation. It carries a subjective nuance that the cause was unavoidable (e.g., an accident or a personal trait) and the speaker is often seeking understanding or forgiveness from the listener. It is softer and more explanatory than 'kara' or 'node'. In speech, 'もの' is often contracted to 'もん'.

事故があったものだから、電車が遅れてしまいました。
