Meaning
Used to express how someone might feel or think if one were to stand in their position or look at things from their perspective.
Note
Implies a sense of empathy or consideration for the subject's standpoint. Often used with a person or organization (e.g. 'oya ni shitara'). 'Ni shitara' is relatively informal and used in conversation.
Examples
親にしたら、子供の幸せが一番の願いだ。
From the parents' perspective, their child's happiness is their greatest wish.
彼女にすれば、それはただの冗談だったのかもしれない。
From her perspective, it might have just been a joke.
本人にしてみたら、一生懸命やった結果なのだろう。
Considering it from his own perspective, it was likely the result of doing his absolute best.
周囲の人にしてみれば、彼の行動は理解しがたいものだ。
From the point of view of the people around him, his actions are hard to understand.
学生にしたら、試験休みは待ち遠しいものだ。
From a student's perspective, exam breaks are something to look forward to.
