Meaning
Used to express that an action or state extends throughout an entire range of time, space, or a particular field. It can be used adverbially (にわたって) or adnominally (にわたる).
Note
Indicates that something covers an entire span of time, space, or scope. 'ni wataru' is the adnominal form (modifying a noun), while 'ni watatte' and 'ni watari' are adverbial forms.
