Meaning
Used to express a strong negative feeling that something is so extreme or bad that it is impossible to do a certain action (like eating, watching, or forgiving). It is often used in a critical or dismissive way.
Note
A strong subjective negative evaluation, often used with verbs in their potential form (e.g., 'cannot possibly eat it', 'cannot possibly forgive it').
Examples
あんな不味い料理は、とても食べられたものではない。
That kind of terrible food is something that simply cannot be eaten.
彼の態度は、許せたもんじゃない。
His attitude is simply unforgivable.
この計画は、現実離れしていて検討できたものではない。
This plan is so unrealistic that it's impossible to even consider.
素人の私が見ても、この絵は褒められたものではない。
Even as an amateur, I can see that this painting is not something to be praised.
あんなにひどいことを言われては、黙っていられたもんじゃない。
