Meaning
Indicates that once a certain condition is met or an action is taken, a serious, irreversible, or highly undesirable consequence will inevitably follow. It emphasizes the finality of the result.
Note
A formal and emphatic expression. 'Tara saigo' is slightly more colloquial than 'ta ga saigo'. Often used with negative or alarming outcomes.

If you miss this chance, it's over; it will probably never come around again.
一度始めたら最後、終わるまでやめすることはできない。
Once you start, it's the end; you won't be able to stop until it's finished.
