Meaning

Used to express that even though a certain condition may exist, the conclusion or result is unexpected or remains true.

Note

A highly formal and literary expression with an archaic tone (due to the classic 'domo' ending). It acknowledges a fact (often an extreme or authoritative one) but states that the following situation or rule still applies. Often used with 'tatoe', 'ikani', or 'ikura'.
