〜はもとより

Meaning
Used to say that something is true for one thing, and even more so for another. It translates as 'not to mention' or 'let alone'. It is a more formal expression than '〜はもちろん'.
Note
A formal version of '〜はもちろん'. Used to indicate that something is obviously true, but something else is also true.
Examples
この料理は、味はもとより見た目もいい。
This dish tastes good, not to mention its appearance.
平日はもとより週末も仕事だ。
I work on weekends, not to mention weekdays.
彼女は、日本語はもとより英語も堪能だ。
She is proficient in English, let alone Japanese.
私の家は、テレビはもとより冷蔵庫さえない。
My house doesn't even have a refrigerator, let alone a TV.

This disease is painful for the family, not to mention the person themselves.
