A morning greeting. Informal = 'おはよう', polite = 'おはようございます'. In some workplaces it's used beyond the morning.

Good morning. Did you sleep well?
出勤したらまず『おはようございます』と挨拶する。
When I arrive at work, I first say 'Good morning'.
工場ではシフト交代のときに『おはよう』と言うことがある。
In factories, people sometimes say 'おはよう' when shifts change.
