A device used to dampen or muffle the sound of an instrument (e.g., violin mute, trumpet mute). Often indicated in scores when to use it.
バイオリンの練習のときは弱音器を付けて音を小さくすることがある。
When practicing the violin, one sometimes attaches a mute to reduce the sound.
