A humble (kenjougo) expression for 'to see' or 'to read', used when referring to one's own action (commonly used as '拝見する').
書類を拝見してもよろしいでしょうか。
May I take a look at the documents?
その本は先週拝見しました。
I read/looked at that book last week.
メールを拝見して、折り返しご連絡します。
I'll read your email and get back to you.
お手紙を拝見し、ありがたく思います。
I have read your letter and I am grateful.
